you get the picture - right - v 2.0

direct link (if streaming above fails)
you get the picture - 14'40'' (hi8/dig8)

the leit motif for it all was to produce a problem for then solving it. no cheating allowed.
so i turned my normal method of shooting all the way around: in spite of choosing the colours in the camera and the effects on the computer i did exactly the opposite. i tried to get advantage of an effect that i particularly dislike (posterize).
and then the thing was to produce a video dance short feature film. so the first thing was: “the actor/dancer doesn’t move!” so the camera does. then the camera doesn’t move, so the focus does. and so on… in the end, i was out of ways to escape, because had built my prison this way. so the escape was carlos bica’s song with ana brandão on the vocals “carlos”. it expresses what i’ve been trying to do during the whole film. a story about a shapeshifting person. it shapes into many things and we forget that there is a body in front of us, and sometimes… there it is, but then again, there is not.

when i screened the movie for the first time, i thought the better thing was to have a triple parallel projection in r g b. as i don’t like green colour, it would be red greyscale and blue. so every movie would be black, white and one colour (be it red, blue or grey) and they could deal with the same story in different way, mostly because of the colour. and they could dialogue. once red (at the left) is silent, blue (at the right )starts to sound. grey is everytime emitting little sounds.
but that doesn’t kill the possibility of seeing each one in separate.
